Be an ENCOURAGER!

I had an experience yesterday that I want to share.

As I walked thru the grocery store late yesterday I saw this couple (of about my age, so not young but defiantly not old!) and I noticed the wife right away because she was wearing this knee length dress in a fun, modern print with a really long sheer vest. She was dressed like I would expect my daughters (aka youngsters) to be dressed. I thought she looked really cute.

So, later, as I was leaving the store she was walking out as well.

I said “Can I just say you look adorable?”

She put her arm around me and said “Can you be my new best-friend? At our age we need to hear this, right?”

I replied, “Yes, ma’am, and we need to support each other.”

She said, “Thank you, that made my day.”

My question to you is this: do you give compliments freely? We “girls” need to support each other. When you know (or see) a friend has lost weight TELL her! Tell her how fantastic she looks. Support her.

ENCOURAGE HER!

After all we not only do these things for ourselves but those around us. We want to be noticed for our efforts. It is so hard to eat right and be healthy and lose that weight. We need patted on the back! Especially by those we love and respect the most.

I am afraid we see HER accomplishment as a failure for ourselves. We didn’t lose weight. We don’t work-out. We don’t eat right. Why should I tell her she looks good when I feel so bad about myself? We all are competitive by nature. Maybe just a little bit but some all the same. We get defensive when we see someone succeeding when we have failed. Sadly, it is human nature.

Let’s fix that nature!

Get over it! News Flash….it’s not all about YOU!! We are here to support each other (male and female alike)! God needs us to be in tune with each other to further His Kingdom. We can’t do that when we are at odds with each other. You say, “I’m not at odds with anyone, just because she lost more weight than me, dresses better than me, eats healthier than me, exercises more than me (or whatever your situation is).”

Really? You may not know you are at odds with her but she does. She is making great effort to better herself and if her “besties” don’t compliment her then who? Some stranger at the grocery store? Well, yes, and sadly it makes her day because she doesn’t get it from her friends.

I have a friend that always encourages me. She tells me I look cute every time see shes me. I won’t lie, it makes me feel good…especially on a day I don’t feel so cute. I have made an effort to do this with my friends. It makes me feel good to hear it so I figure it has to make them feel good as well.

BE AN ENCOURAGER!

It seems depression is having a heyday in our society. Just look at Robin Williams. He was one of the funniest men around! He took his own life because he was depressed. The funniest man alive was DEPRESSED?!?! If that doesn’t open our eyes to our hurting world then I don’t know what will. I am not saying your friend will commit suicide because you didn’t compliment her new outfit or her weight loss. What I am saying is a compliment can go a long way in making someone feel good about things. And you don’t really know how she is feeling deep down inside. She needs that compliment! Trust me on this!

SO BE AN ENCOURAGER!!

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.                                                                                                       2 Corinthians 13:11

We all need Jesus! Man, woman, child! Compliments are not limited to the sisters in your life. We ALL need to hear encouraging words! It’s just we sisters are hardest on each other. Lets start encouraging not discouraging!

Be encouraged,

Sabrina

I cry because its Thanksgiving

As I sit here this morning pondering life……….I wonder where did the time go?

Where are the young children I raised?

Why are they gone from my home?

Why can’t I get them all in one place together more then once a year?

Why? Why? Why?

Why do they grow up and leave home to make their own lives?

Oh, yeah, that is what we raised them to do. Doesn’t mean I have to like it one little bit! Because I DON’T! Okay, okay, I ❤ my grandsons and my kids had to grow up and lead their own lives for me to have them! So, I am okay with them doing what we raised them to do.

I ❤ the Holidays! Its my favorite time of year. Especially now with 5 amazing grandsons to spoil. But I miss my babies being, well babies! I was thinking about Thanksgiving dinners at my mom’s house. It was so much fun! She always made more food then we could ever eat in day. So, we showed up for days and ate and ate and ate…..until we couldn’t walk! The ‘good ole days’!

That is what I am missing this Eve of Thanksgiving. The times when we loaded up and made the 5 mile drive to see my parents and siblings! Yeah, we lived close so we could go over for days and keep eating. But more importantly we hung out with family. We played games. We ate, too much. We laughed. Did I mention we ate……a lot?!?! We watched football. We made memories.

I miss those days when my kids were younger. When we had complete control….or so we thought, right?! They didn’t have a choice but to go with us. They didn’t have a car or money!

Most of all I miss spending time with my mom and step-father. We laid him to rest 2 and a half years ago. I know my sweet momma misses him every day. I think of him more often during the holidays when we would have been together more. But he was an amazing man and is missed daily.

Life goes on and we make new memories with new family members and our circle starts over with us as the new center. But it is hard to let go of the past and move into the future. I miss many things about the past but I look forward to so many more great things in the future.

I pray this Thanksgiving Holiday you find great happiness and make grand memories that you will look back on fondly. May peace rule your days and hope find you often and all your dreams come true and love never find you wanting!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Sabrina

I AM Blessed!

My sweet Bella porch sitting with me in her own chair

As I sat and watched the rain fall on Saturday morning, I was reminded of how truly blessed I am. Not because it rained, although that is a blessing. But because I have an amazing husband who loves me for me. Which is asking a ton some days. And children who love me and honor me as their mother. We have our issues but as a family we ROCK!

I was porch pondering, which is what I like to do on a nice slow rainy day.

I think about life and what it offers.

I have everything I could ever need or want and then some.

I do have an amazing husband. He loves me unconditionally. With ALL my faults and quirks! We have a great marriage. We don’t do everything right but we do a lot right and pray through the rest.

I have 6 super kids. I gave birth to 3 of them and then they married some pretty amazing people. All of them love the Lord, which makes this momma happy. They are good, kind, caring, giving, young-adults.

I have 4 of the cutest, most amazing grandsons in the whole entire world! And one more due any day now! Just ask me and I will tell you more then you ever wanted to know about them. I just can’t shut up when it comes to talking about my grandsons. They are the BEST!

I would consider myself a blessed woman.

I read part of an article the other day and it was talking about being blessed and how we as a society use that term way too much. I agree. We do. Just like we use the term “I love…..” too much. We love everything from tastes to feelings to colors to cars and all things in between. I am as guilty as anybody. I love so much in my life. So, I use those words carefree and, yes, maybe, carelessly sometimes.

I think we all agree all blessings come from our Heavenly Father. All good things come from God.

The article talked about us making God out to be some wish granter in the sky. I am blessed because: my children are beautiful; my husband is handsome; my wife is gorgeous; my house is beautiful; my life is perfect; my grandchildren are smart; my job is perfect; my friends are amazing and the list goes on and on. I don’t think God is up there granting our every wish and making our lives perfect. He wants us to submit to His will for our life. He wants us to love what He loves and hate what He hates. It is that simple. But, yet, so hard.

Our challenge in Sunday School this week is to soul search for what God has called you to be in your own life.

What is it that He wants for you?

What does He want from you?

I think if we can answer these questions then we will truly know what it means to be BLESSED.

Be Blessed

~Sabrina

It’s a Granna thing…….

Image

Granna and grandson #4!

What does it mean to be a grandmother?

If you look it up in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary it reads:

grand·moth·er

noun \ˈgran(d)-ˌmə-thər\

: the mother of your father or mother

But is that all it means? I think NOT!

For me being a Granna (that is what I go by!) is so much more then being the mother of the mother.

We were at the hospital when our first grandson was born. We could see the door to the room but not hear anything. We were outside another doorway and not permitted any closer. At one point they had a bit of an emergency. All we could see were more hospital personnel pouring into the room. No word to the family waiting anxiously outside the hall if all was okay or not. It took them 20-30 minutes to tell us baby had arrived and both were doing good. My tears turned joyful at that point!

Seeing him for the first time was pure JOY! I was a GRANNA!

Fast-forward a few years and we are at the hospital again for grandson #2. I was actually in the room this time. When our daughter started having breathing problems the head nurse yelled “get the mother out of here!”. I was ushered down a hallway a lot farther from this grandson then the last. I waited even longer this time and I was alone. Grandpa was at home with our first grandson. So, here I was in a hospital waiting room in the middle of the night all alone, worried that my daughter and grandson might not make it. It was probably an hour before I saw our son-in-law and found out all was well. More tears!

Holding grandson #2 was as AMAZING as the first time! I was getting good at this GRANNA thing!

Grandson #3 was born in his parents bedroom in the wee hours of the morning (on purpose – home-birth). We got the call late into the night that if we wanted to be there for the birth we better get over there. We did! It was the most peaceful experience I had ever been a part of. At least as births go. It was the first time our daughter had peace giving birth. Praise music was playing softly when we arrived. The big brothers were still sleeping. The midwife was calm and very competent. It was just a great experience. She had pain which is to be expected when you are pushing another human out of your body. But over all it was peaceful. He arrived in a pool of water. We didn’t know what he was until birth. To say I was disappointed it was another boy would be the truth for a split second. Then I laid eyes on my sweet #3 and my heart was his. And it pretty much has been ever since. He and I have a bond that I didn’t have with the other brothers. Not the same anyway.

Holding grandson #3 was pure BLISS! Bring on the boys! This GRANNA can handle it!

Two years later we are in the bedroom again waiting on grandbaby #4. Not sure what this one is either. High hopes for a girl! The whole atmosphere was peaceful again. Big brothers are sleeping. #3 is walking around wondering what is going on. He kisses mommy in between contractions. Such a sweet baby, that one! Praise music is blasting throughout the house. Our daughter is in the pool when we arrive. She hasn’t started pushing, yet. She is hurting. To be expected. She is hurting a lot. I’m not gonna lie, this momma was crying watching her baby in so much pain. It was a very emotional time. I did a lot of praying as I watched her get closer to pushing. Through it all her amazing husband was right there with her. Soothing her. Caressing her. Loving her. It was wonderful to be a part of it again. Then baby #4 arrived and HE was perfect. There is nothing like seeing your grandbaby immediately after birth.

Swaddling grandson #4 for the first time MELTED my heart. I ❤ being a GRANNA!

So with the definition of being a grandmother in my mind, I say, HOGWASH! That is not a definition.

My definition is this:

Grandmother: someone who possesses a warm heart, open arms; more love than she can express; more joy then she can contain; grateful to be called grandmother; worrier; crier; prayer warrior; baby holder; lover of her family

It is not easy being the grandmother some times. We want to tell our children how to raise those little people they give birth to. After all we already did and they turned out pretty good…right??!??! But it is not our place. We had our chance. Now they get to make the same mistakes……I mean try to raise God following, fun-loving, crazy, happy babies!

We all have to live and learn.

The circle of life.

Our 5th GRANDSON is due in about 2 weeks. I know without a doubt I am equipped to love another boy as much as I love the first 4! God is so good to me. I am truly blessed! And I have another daughter that hasn’t even started having babies, yet! Bring ’em on!

So you go be a good grandmother and make some cookies for those sweet babies. Just don’t tell their momma!

Live on,

Sabrina

Childhood memories

My potato plant

I had some potatoes that were “growing” in the pantry. You know when they get those eyes coming out all over because they are old and you should have thrown them out a few weeks ago or cooked them? I put a few in water, just like when we were kids, in a cup with three toothpicks stuck in them at an angle so they would be down in the water and put them in the window. Two rotted and stunk up the place! And when they sprouted (I did a happy dance!), I put them in dirt. I have three potato plants growing in my flower garden. I have seen potato plants they grow and sell in stores and I figured I could give it a try. I like the ones in the stores because of their light green coloring but mine are a different variety. Not sure what they grow theirs from. Mine are organic russets, of course.

But that is really not what this post is about…okay a little bit it is. Look at that plant! I grew a potato plant from ………well a potato!

It’s fun to be reminded of childhood.

What do you remember from your childhood that you would like to relive?

Swinging so high you thought you might flip over the bar of the swing set?

Or swinging high enough to jump out and actually feel like you are flying? I was always afraid of breaking my arm!

Riding your bike at top speed and letting go of the handle bars?

Riding the merry-go-round at the park? I had motion sickness issues…..still do….no go-rounds for me!

Staying out until the street lights came on? And still playing until your parents called you home?

Catching fireflies? I have never seen one but others say they exist, so I will go with that. I would like to see one some day.

Catching tadpoles? Watching those tadpoles turn into tiny frogs? They are so dang cute!

Climbing the cherry tree and eating until you are stuffed? Or peach tree? Or plum tree? Or apple tree?

Fishing without a care in the world?

Climbing into a tree house?

Having a game of baseball with the other kids on your block?

Hearing the ice cream truck a few blocks away and running into the house for money?

Jumping out of bed on Saturday morning to watch “Saturday Morning Cartoons”? When cartoons were still funny!

What are some of the things you remember? Did you have a special place in your neighborhood that you hung out with your friends? Who’s house was the house on the block where all the kids hung out? Did you have a curfew?

The old sitcoms remind me of what life used to be like. Times were lean but we didn’t know it. We had food on the table, clothes on our backs and we were loved. We didn’t need anything else.

Go out there and try your hand at something from your past. But if you break your arm “flying” out of a swing, don’t come blaming me. You know you are too old for that kind of behavior! You might want to stick with the ice cream truck!

What are you waiting for?

Live lively,

Pedal, pedal, pedal

I wrote the following post a few years ago when our oldest grandson, who will be 7 in July, was just learning to ride a bike at age 3.
I was reminded of this while observing him ride his bike with no training wheels a few days ago.
He was having trouble mastering not having training wheels and told his mom he was putting the training wheels back on his bike.
She told him no, that he would learn to ride, it just took practice.
So she went out with him and helped him along.
Needless to say, with practice, he mastered riding!
He rides like a champ!
Needs to master stopping, still, but rides like the wind!
All he had to do was Pedal, Pedal, Pedal.
Image
Pedal, pedal, pedal:
How many times have you heard the term “keep your head down and plow”? If you haven’t, sorry, you have missed out on some words of wisdom. If you have, hopefully you know what it meant. Keep your head down and plow is a clear, albeit a farmer’s way, of telling you to do your work till the end. Don’t worry about what is going on around you. It may not be your business so don’t make it your business. Keep your eyes on your goal. Get your job done. I think you get the idea.

Well, thanks to my then (last summer) almost 3 year old grandson, Camden, I have a new one for you. He was learning to ride his bike with training wheels, yes he could barely reach the pedals, but that didn’t stop him. He was with his grandpa, Johnny, at our house outside practicing riding his bike. Johnny heard him saying: pedal, pedal, pedal. Grandpa observed his determination in coaching himself on how to ride his bike. Pedal, pedal, pedal.

There is a lesson in this story for all of us. What are you pedaling for?

What do you need to remind yourself how to do? Pedal, pedal, pedal.

What are some challenges that you are facing? Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Are you putting one foot in front of the other? Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Take baby steps if you have to. Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Always know the goal you strive to reach. Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Dream it. Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Just go get it! Pedal, pedal, pedal.

Out of the mouth of babes we can learn a lot about life.
Those little babies can teach us so much.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 They are a wise, courageous, innocent bunch, even Jesus knew this!

So what it is you need to pedal towards today?
Let my grandson’s words of wisdom guide you on this day.

Pedal, Pedal, Pedal!

God bless,
Sabrina

“Simplify”

This is a re-post from a few years ago. I felt it was worth repeating.

What a great word, Simplify.
What does it mean exactly?

Well Merriam-Webster on-line says this:
a : to reduce to basic essentials
b : to diminish in scope or complexity

For my life this is a very elusive word! I wish it wasn’t. But it is. I try almost on a daily bases to keep in mind this word, Simplify. I want a simple life. I think back to when my kids were small. Life, when looking back, was very simple. What happened?!?!?

When the kids are little, you don’t think your life is easy or simple. You are worrying about their future. What will they grow up to be? How will you pay for their college education? Will they follow Jesus? Will they marry the right person? Will they be happy? Will they give you grandchildren?!??!?!?!? Those are the BEST!!!! Worth waiting for!!!!

God doesn’t want us to worry or stress about anything in life:

Matthew 6:25-27
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? (NIV)

Later in life as they grow up and set out on their own, you wish you could go back to the “simple” things in life, when they were little. Boy, oh, boy! How the world changes. I have figured out some things to do to “simplify” life. Now, you will notice I didn’t say things I do well, just things I have noted would make life easier.

Are you one of those people who doesn’t know how to tell people “NO”? That is a great start. Pick and choose how you spend your time. Are you giving more than you should to everything in your life? We can give to so many around us that we only give a mediocre effort into many things. Narrow down what you give your time to and you will give a more quality effort. Yes, you will disappoint a few people, some will even get angry about your telling them no, but in the end it’s your life and your time you are trying to get under control! So, you get to make the call!

I also think of the social media age we are living in. Our children (and grandchildren and ourselves for that matter) have so many things to do that doesn’t require other people to be around! We can sit down at a computer or ipad or kindle or ipod or anything else you can think of, and not move for hours! That may seem simple but what toll does that take on the family unit? Do you have dinner together at least once a week as a family? Do you turn off the television and put away the phones and share a meal and family time to reconnect? If you don’t, I highly recommend that you try it at least once a week and then try to work up to several times a week. Find out what is going on in each others lives. You might find out something about your kids you didn’t already know!  And maybe even some things you really didn’t want to know!

It’s hard and there are so many things we can justify as important in our lives, that keep us from slowing down and smelling the roses!  You have to determine for yourself and your family if you really want to “Simplify” your lives. I for one am choosing to slow down and smell the roses. My grandsons LOVE to smell the roses!

It’s time to re-prioritize our lives! Slow down! Sit on the porch a spell! Get to know yourself again!  You could discover some old interest that you have forgotten about. Oh, wait that would cause more doing! OK, now I must go prioritize my life! Just remember to enjoy your life and don’t fill it up with “stuff”! Don’t look up and realize your kids are grown and doing their own “things”, without you!

SIMPLIFY NOW! It will pay off in the long run!

What do you need to simplify in your life? Please, share in the hopes of helping others with their own “things”. Then put it into practice and check back and let us know what is working and whats not.

Live simply,

Sabrina

Thankful for……..honeysuckle!

Image

My honeysuckle

We woke to no air conditioner this morning. The fan gave out some time yesterday but with most of the family here and three of them being hot little boys running in and out we didn’t notice the house being overly hot……until this morning.

So, hubs tells me he will fix it when he gets home tonight………….wait for it……….yes, I made a face that was not pleasing to see by my sweet, sweet man. He was doing the best he could at 5:30 in the morning. I said I was sorry and I understood he couldn’t fix it right now but the thought of being without all day got the best of me. Like I had to tell him this!

So my solution was to work in my front yard which was in the shade for the morning and it was much cooler outside then in. I knew after being outside sweating the house would feel cooler or so I hoped. I got a good start on some projects that I have been putting off for a week or so now. We have the greatest, oldest trees on our block and so the most leaves! All over the yard!

Like a lot of leaves…..all…..over…..the…..place!

As I was working I could smell my honeysuckle flowers and they smelled amazing. They are in full bloom and are in abundance. It is the biggest I have ever grown! I had a jasmine die over the cold winter and replaced it today with another honeysuckle. I am looking forward to it being as lush as it’s partner on the other side of the walk way.

What all this made me think about was finding something to be thankful for. I was a bit sour (and when I say a bit…well you probably already know) this morning realizing I would be without an air conditioner all day. I know some don’t have air conditioning and get by just fine but I am accustomed to a cooler house and I am a bit spoiled….so……yeah I want it now!

Okay, back to being thankful! I was thinking about working in the house and not having ac and being grumpy and so decided to go outside and work. I smelled the flowers and it made my day. Changed my whole outlook. I am grateful for the little things in my life. I am blessed beyond my imagination. I try hard every day to thank my Lord and Savior for the little things. I usually thank Him for our home and heat and cool air and electricity and running water and all the things we take for granted every day. I think I forgot to be thankful yesterday for cool air! Not gonna forget that again!

You have heard the story, take your troubles and put them in a bag and toss them in a room with everyone else’s and then pick a new one, you will be wanting your own trouble back pretty quick. I know for me this is true. I have no air conditioner today. My aunt buried one of her sons on Thursday. Another aunt buried her husband about 6 weeks ago. A friend buried her 22 year old daughter about 6 weeks ago. I can live without air conditioning for a day just to keep my own burdens.

Life is tough. No one ever said it would be easy. We have to make the best of what we have. Do the best with what we are given. Love life and live it to the fullest!

I hope you stop today and smell the flowers and are thankful for what you have been given.

Live thankful,

Sabrina

P.S. no baby, yet! Still waiting!

Waitin’ on a woman (I hope)!

I sit here today waiting on my 4th grandchild to be born.

My daughter is not due today or even tomorrow.

She is not scheduled for a c-section so we don’t know when baby will appear.

She is actually having a home-birth ~ her second.

We don’t know what she is having ~ other than it’s a baby.

So I sit here waiting on the phone call to tell me “it’s time”.

I have realized recently and probably longer if I were completely honest with myself, I am not a very patient person. There are a few things that get to me rather quickly and my patients run thin (but that is for another post). I am sure you can relate. Don’t judge, we all have our issues.

But right now I am calmly waiting on that phone call! Okay, so I say calmly, but inside I am jumping up and down so anxious to hold a newborn baby! I really want it to be a girl, only because I already have three sweet grandsons and a fourth grandson due in June (my son’s wife). I think it is high time this family bought some pink frilly things!

So that is the reason for the title of this blog. I really hope we have been waiting on a woman! Or rather a baby girl!!

I remember when I had my first child, a girl. Then our second was also a girl. When I got pregnant with our third I was scared to have a boy at this point. I wasn’t sure what to do with a boy after six years of pink. But when we got our boy we figured it out. And bought blue!

Now, in my daughter’s family, they have some of the wildest, craziest, sweetest boys you will ever meet. The oldest, 6 and a half, is positive this baby is a girl. He is desperate for a sister. I think he will be the best big brother to a little girl the world has ever seen. The middle child, 5, says he wants a sister, too, but I don’t think he cares as much as his older brother. The current baby of the family, 2, does not understand what is happening. He kisses mommy’s belly and is so sweet but in a few days his world will be turned upside down, whether we get a boy or girl, he will no longer be the “baby”. I think he will adjust fine but it may be a bit tough on him. I guess Granna (that’s me!) will have to give him some extra lovin’! He is so sweet, I will enjoy that!

Irregardless of what this newest member to our family is, I want a healthy baby. Yes, I would love to continue (yes, I have been buying some pink) buying pink clothes. But a healthy baby and momma are more important than gender.

But for it to be a girl………………..

I can come out to the world and shout it from the roof tops!

{{I AM GRANNA TO A GIRL}}!!

But in the mean time………I am sitting around here………waiting on a woman (hopefully two, one to give birth and one to be born)!!

The following link is Jaclyn’s birth story for Everett. It was the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of. I hope you enjoy it, too. Would you ever have a home birth?

How to “hide” veggies in their food!

Do you have trouble getting family members to eat their vegetables? Most moms do when it comes to their kids. While others have picky husbands. I know my husband would not pick up spinach or sweet peppers and eat them on his own. But in this recipe he asks me to add the sweet peppers!

SCORE!

It is really a very simple breakfast (or whenever meal) to make. It is what I would call a non-traditional omelet. I say it is non-traditional because it is not flat nor pretty like omelets I have been served in restaurants. I actually think it is better. I don’t add any grease to the skillet, you cook in the bacon grease. I like it best when the edges get crisp and crunchy.

What you will need:

skillet

spatula

*eggs (I use 2 eggs per person)

*bacon (I use 2-3 slices of bacon per person)

*spinach, sweet peppers or other veggies you have on hand (chopped)

salt and pepper

I start by cutting the bacon into bite size pieces and frying in the skillet. You need to cook it until it is done the way you like your bacon. I prefer a bit more crisp than my husband so I find a happy medium so we are both happy.

While it is cooking cut up your veggies and add to the skillet with the bacon. The veggies will cook up soft and have bacon flavor!

YA! for bacon flavor!

Image

I break the eggs into a bowl and scramble them with salt and pepper before pouring into the bacon and veggies.

Image

Once you get the bacon/veggies cooked to your liking, add the eggs.

Image

I let it flow into the bacon/veggies before I move it around.

Image

I use the spatula and mix it a bit to get it spread out into the skillet. Lift the edge of the “omelet” gently to let some of the egg flow under to cook evenly. Before I flip it in half I add any other ingredients here. My husband likes his spicy so (on his half) I add crushed red peppers. You can add cheese or any other toppings you would like.

I then fold it over to close it up and let it cook a few minutes longer. I press down on it so any uncooked egg squeezes out and cooks. I flip it once to make sure it is cooked good on both sides. I cut it in half while cooking to make it easier to handle.

Image

When you remove it lay it on a paper towel to absorb some of the grease.

Put on a plate add some fresh fruit, orange juice or milk and breakfast is served. It takes about 15 minutes start to finish.

I hope you will see your kids eat it as quick as my grandsons do. They love it!

Let me know what you try and what works for your kiddos.

Enjoy life,

Sabrina

*The bacon I use is uncured. I use organic vegetables and fruits. I use grass-fed meats whenever possible. I use organic free-range eggs. It is sometimes hard to find organic, grass-fed, and free-range anything but do your best to find the best. It is better for you and your family.
